I developed a Cocos3D App for my 4th year honors project. First time I had ever delved into iOS and objective C programming. Pretty steep learning curve but managed to pass my degree
Basically it's Simon Says but the nodes swap location after each turn. I used constraints programming (loosely to generate 108 unique levels and also put in a random high score mode. I spent a few weeks after I graduated polishing the App and released a paid iPad version. Last week I released iPhone versions (free and paid)
I was never really bothered about making lots of money from this App and as far i'm concerned it's a success as it got me my degree. It really hasn't done very well in the App store at all, had about 100 downloads and a few sales. I was hoping to recoup the apple license fee but doubt this is going to happen.
I was thinking about running an iAd campaign to see if this would boost downloads but not sure if it's just a waste of money. Any advice on how to market this app or even if it's worth trying ?
I would like to say a huge thanks to everyone on this forum as I could have never finished this without all the helpful posts, especially billhollings.
