So, firstly, I’m Ryan Bourne, a 15 year old programmer from the U.K. Yep, 15 years old. Feel free not to read on if that puts you off
I’ve been programming with Cocos2D-iPhone (great game-engine by the way!) for the past two years to make my game “Gem’Em!”, learning practically all of Objective-C as I went along. I started off learning Pascal when I was around 7-8 years old, and I’m now attempting to specialise more in Objective-C. I also want to learn C++.
I like to pride myself on keeping in contact with clients, I can always guarantee that I’ll email you keeping you up-to date, and I even have a Skype account, in-case you wish to I.M me while I work
I have a development blog, a portfolio and a CV (available on request). My development blog and portfolio can be found at www.codemonkeyzdevelopment.blogspot.com.
I like to go against the normal stereotype of teenagers, I don’t drink or smoke; I’m responsible and polite, and I like to go beyond what I’ve been asked to do to fulfill what people ask from me. I’m currently going through my GCSEs, I’m studying English Language (which I have just finished), English Literature, Science, Maths (which I have also just finished), Computing, Business Studies, Geography and German (toll!). After school, I wish to go to college (to study Computing, Maths and Russian), and then to university to get a degree in Computing, so I can start my own software development consultancy. I’m also helping out at school in Computing to create some tutorials for my class on Python and SQL, for our controlled assessments.
I’m also a very friendly person, and even if you don’t want any work done please feel free to say hi!
I have prior experience with another company as a programmer, I will be able to get references as necessary I was employed by a U.S company when I was 14, after doing a small project for them
I can be paid through PayPal, but if you have anything really small (that could be reused in other games) I'd be happy to do it for free if you'd be willing to allow me to open source it That way, you get free code, other developers get free code, and I get some worthwhile experience and a more full GitHub profile... what's not to like?? I’m not in this just for the money... I think the learning experience is better But hey, money is a bonus I’m saving up for university, seeing as the tuition fees have gone up
Obviously, if you take me on for work, you’ll have to remember I’m still at school, and that I have exams... but I can still get quite a lot of work done
I suppose, I’m not asking for a job, I’m more asking for an opportunity to learn Hopefully someone might be willing to provide me with that
So, if you have any work you want me to do, or you just want a chat, feel free to P.M me.
Thanks for reading, and I look forward to your responses!
