Hello Cocos2D Community!
I've been a long time supporter of cocos2d and released Star Thief back in the summer of 2013. This was before cocos2d-x was a viable option, so the entire game was written in obj-c/c++.
Apple took Star Thief down last month due to inactivity (I haddn't released an update since 2013, despite the game still running great on modern phones, including iOS 10). I used this as motivation to do some work and release a hefty upgrade.
I upgraded from cocos2d version 2.1 to 2.2 (for the 64-bit support) and applied the manual patch from the forums to support the plus sized iPhone screen resolutions. I ended up creating a brand new XCode 8.1 project and reimporting everything since the old one was over three years old. All-in-all, it was a pain in the ass to get up and running again, but I managed to keep the project alive.
I have a feeling these forums are a barren wasteland now, but if anyone else is out there, I'd appreciate your feedback and support!
And if any cocos2d contributors are out there, thanks for the wonderful work over the years.
