Now that this is all out in the open, let me take a chance to comment on it all.
I think Swift is a great step forward by Apple. There is no way obj-c will disappear in the foreseeable future, unless Apple rewrites all their own API's, but there will obviously be a strong movement towards Swift.
As Cocos2D is the main open source API for iOS, we of course want to take Swift seriously.
We will do our best to look into what options there are with Cocos2D and Swift, but with the NDA in action, the actual implementation details are still TBD.
As for renaming Cocos2D, we have talked quite a bit about this in the past. So far -objc was our best bet, but we didnt change it, because it really was not a great name. Cocos2D-Swift on the other hand is both a great name, and 100% covers what we are trying to do, namely to make an open source free of use API for Apple development.
I can not speak for Apportable, but as they are the leading company in porting Apple software to Android, I think it is pretty safe to say, that it will be a matter of time only.
