Liquid fun is built on Box2d so without some clever code foo it wont work with chipmunk physics in v3.
I had it working with 2.1 a while ago but scrapped it as I couldn't get it working nicely. "Stuck particles" seems to be a thing with liquidfun. A drop of water will get stuck inside a physicsbody and liquidfun forgets about it so the demonstrated methods to clean them, dont work.
Drawing the particles as anything but the debug squares gets very expensive too.
If you have time have a play trying to get it to work. I have added Box2D to cocos2d 3.2 here that you can use a starting point but from memory liquidfun completely replaced Box2d, it wasn't a simple addon.
The v3 renderer might work it magic on the drawing issues
