I am working on a game for Mac OS X using the latest stable version of Cocos2d. I am experiencing issues with frame rate. My game runs at 60 FPS and for the most part stays at that frame rate but if I have other applications running in the background that are CPU intensive, my frame rate drops to 30 FPS, this affects everything basically making my jumps twice as high and making movements of the player and enemies half as fast.
Is there not some type of priority within CCDirector that reserves CPU processing so that other applications can not interfere with the CPU requirements of the game?
I have searched all over the forums as well as the internet to try and find a solution for this but I have not run across anyone who is experiencing this same issue. Hopefully someone out there can give me some ideas as to how to fix this.
