Thanks for your reply, I apologize if the post was a bit confusing.
Basically I have a top down space game. The camera is pointing down the Z axis. I have a space ship pod that is wrapped in an orientation wrapper node. To move the ship, the orientation wrapper is set to move forward ( +X axis) and rotation is applied to the Z axis. The wrapper (and ship) can then move around the screen to touch points. I only care that it's moving to X and Y coordinates. This seems to work well and allows me to apply other actions just on the ship.
So right now when I update the camera I simply change it's X and Y coordinates to that of the orientation wrapper. This is done in a loop. Ideally I want to place the camera in the orientation wrapper so that it updates it's position when the wrapper moves. The problem is I do not want the camera to rotate when the wrapper rotates. I just want to update the X and Y of the camera so that it matches the X and Y of the wrapper.
I'm not sure if I have explained this any better. If your still not sure what I mean I will try make a diagram.
Thanks again for replying.
