Spine has been somewhat disastrous on my framerate with lots of visible skeletons. I figured this was due to lack of batching, so I whipped a quick CCSkeletonBatchNode together and immediately increased my FPS from 15 to 50 (!) for a scene with 20 detailed skeletons (iPad 2). This is a huge win, obviously!
My question is: has anyone else built a full-fledged spine batch node for Cocos2D yet? Mine still has some issues, and I'll be happy to work them out and release to the public, but if someone's ahead of me that would be great too.
Caveat: I'm never using multiple atlases per skeleton, so that's not really in the cards for my implementation. But it works fantastic with single-atlas skeletons.
